After priming most of the flap parts yesterday, I was able to jump right in and start making visible progress. I started by drilling for the nut plate that catches the flap control rod end bearing.
Then I was able to rivet the beefy doublers to the inboard flap ribs.

Next some reinforcement brackets went on the spars.

Then I riveted the ribs to the bottom skins, including setting the tail end rivet to the folded up 'rear spar'.

At this point, I needed to stop riveting and switch to priming the top skins, since I ran out of time yesterday and didn't get it done. Once that was out of the way, I clecoed the top skins to the rib/bottom skin assembly and set the row of rivets on the bottom of the flap that connects the top and bottom skins. I only got one flap up to this point. It looks really nice!
