Tonight was the first time I used the new-to-me DRDT-2 dimpler and it's pretty great. It eliminatesthe need for three hands with the C-frame (one to hold the part, one to hold the dimple down in the hole, one to whack it with a hammer) and is silent. Overall, it's a much more pleasant and easy to use.
I finished up deburring the left elevator skin, which took a little longer than the right skin due to its extra cutouts and stuff for the trim tab. Then I took a side quest and added some stilts to my C-frame table to raise it up to 7" to match the lower die surface on the DRDT-2. Even though this tool is easier to use, it's still not quick as I was deliberate in using it so as to not horribly scratch the skins or poke an extra hole with a misplaced dimple.
I came back to work later in the day and started working on the elevator spar doublers. There is a new doubler piece (E-00001 A and B) on the front side of the elevator spar around each attachment bearing. The smaller one towards the tip doesn't actually fit in the spar channel so it needs to be "rounded" according to the directions. What they actually mean is narrowed, so I did that with the files. I did this for both left and right side just to knock it out. I also started deburring some of the right elevator skeleton parts before calling it a night.
