It's been almost twelve years to the day since I last ordered the RV-8 tail kit but it's finally time to get back into airplane building!Last time, I was young and blinded by optimism (or maybe just stupid...), and there were lots of things that made it not a great time to build an airplane. Now, some of those things are alleviated. Mainly, I don't have the prospect of moving across the country on the horizon, and I now have my PPL so it makes more sense to have an airplane.
Anyway, this time, I'm going with the RV-7 as I like the idea of having the extra space/passenger beside me rather than behind.
Supply chains are still gummed up so where last time, the kit was delivered in a week, it looks like right now the kit will be delivered in a month or so. This is also why I ordered the wing kit now as the projected date for that is out in February 2023. It could be worse, the RV-14 kits have lead time of almost a year right now!
