Remember how I said I'd probably forget to trim the flange of the HS front spars? Well, I forgot. I had clecoed everything together ready to match drill the skeleton with the skin but it all had to come apart so I could trim off the excess. At least I was able to mark where the final hole in the flange would go so putting it all together wasn't a total waste...I trimmed with the angle grinder and then smoothed it out with files (which I hadn't done yet in this picture...)
Here you can see where the spar flange interfered with the rib flange. After trimming it back, it all fits nicely!
I then got the inboard ribs in position, which is a finicky job, and drilled all the holes in the ribs using the holes in the skin as a guide.
Then I match drilled all the holes in then left HS skin to the skeleton, top and bottom.
I then moved over to the right HS, assembling and match drilling its skeleton.
