Well, the word from Vans was that all 120 of the K1000-08 nutplates on my spars needed to be removed and replaced with the correct K1100-08 countersunk counterparts. It seemed like a ton of work as I would need to drill out the two rivets holding each nutplate to the spar. I didn't give myself time to dread the task or get angry and just dove in.

In the end, it was actually quite straightforward and not too time consuming. I wish I wouldn't have made the mistake but at least the fix was relatively painless, all things considered.

I will clean up some of the rivet countersinks to make them sit more flush and also deepen the screw countersinks while I wait for the replacement nutplates to arrive.
