Got back to work tonight...I need to be more consistent if I want to finish in less than 20 years!

When last we left off, I had trimmed the trailing edge of all the rudder stiffeners. Tonight, I trimmed the leading edge. I started off by putting the too-long stiffeners against the rudder skin and roughly marking just forward of the forward pre-punched hole in the rudder skin, signifying about where I'd need to trim. Then I marked accurately with a ruler and sharpie 1/4" plus a little breathing room forward of the soon-to-be first hole. I did that for all 16 stiffeners and then made the cut. It comes off the shears pretty rough, especially in the corner, as you can see below (the sharpie mark here is the 'rough' one):

Here are the eight sets of two stiffeners all trimmed to length.

I used a file to round the corners and smooth the edges left by trimming these with the snips.

I also deburred the edges of the stiffeners with sandpaper and then a scotch brite pad to get rid of some nasty sharp edges that these parts had. They now look good, feel good, and are ready to be drilled with the rudder skins!
