Time to dive into the elevators! After finding all the parts, I did some head scratching for quite a few minutes to make sure I had all the stiffeners and how all the stiffener parts were nestled into the eight sticks of aluminum angle.

Once I had wrapped my head around how the stiffeners needed to be cut apart and adjusted into the right parts, I set about cutting them out of the angle. I used the snips to separate the parts out, and tried the bandsaw to make the long sloping cut, but I didn't like the results from that and the snips were honestly easier and left a better finish so I switched back to the snips.

After getting them all cut out, I undertook the monotonous task of smoothing out the cutlines and rounding all the corners. Felt like it took forever, even though it was only two hours, but I didn't quite get the edges finished, so there is a bit of work on the stiffeners left to do.
